April Ross, a beach volleyball player American is part of a select category of females who have won medals in several Olympics. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time in Tokyo's Olympics and will attempt to win her third gold medal. Ross is determined to earn more than her initial Olympic medal. And at the age of 39, it could be her last opportunity to achieve it. She is still confident, however. Ross was reported in NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your best, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. That's why I'm taking some luck as well. Ross, who was born 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began competing in sports at Newport Harbor High school. Ross competed in many sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors in her time as a college athlete. However she was clearly an edge over the other players in this latter game. In her time at high school, she was a middle blocker outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court, according to her bio at the college. Her efforts were recognized by her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Player of the Year. Her volleyball skills also won her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Although Ross and Klineman are a couple from 2017 onward, the former had already been a major player on the beach scene even before the pair formed. As a matter of fact Ross has won a number of important tournaments throughout her career together with two other partners. One is a volleyball legend. She teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's personal trainer. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships in 2009. The 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded the gold medal. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team that could take home the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. They both went on to take home the bronze beach volleyball trophy at the Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC during her college days, years before becoming a professional. She had a great run through college. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she played her way to Pac-10 and NCAA All-American Freshman of Year awards and earned an All-American. The Trojans could also make it to the Final Four with her help. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss during her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat in the ranks of an All-American. The last two years with the Trojans in the program they won victories by winning consecutive national championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the United States according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a major in the field of international relations in USC. Margie Ross was not able to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top levels. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001, when Ross was in the midst of being a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. But she still keeps her mother in her heart. Margie is an inspiration both on and off of the shore.
