Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had numerous talents, including being able to act, direct production, create plays as well as teach and serve as Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton and is the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" that is originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of plays as a child as well as watching her mother doing her job. In her early years Anna appeared in a number of commercials on television. In November 1999, Anna relocated to Toronto to advance her acting career. She eventually moving to Los Angeles, California, in the following decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she met at a Los Angeles actors' workshop at the end of 2007, became her partner in 2009. Anna, who had converted to Judaism at the time, and Seth Cooperman were wed in the month of December in Fredericton. In April 2011 the couple renewed their wedding vows with an Jewish ceremony. Bo's same sex relationship, together with Lauren (played Zoie Palermo), was listed in CNN as being among the all-time favorites TV Couples. E! named it "the top television Couple" of 2013. Entertainment Television. Anna's internet popularity increased due to the success of the series.
